History of
Supply of Airport Ramp Handling Services
Express
Ground Handling, a 100% Qantas subsidiary established in
February 2004. The business instrumentally supported
inaugural Jetstar operations, which commenced on 25th May
2004 from a number of major Australian airports.
The
organisation’s General Manager reports directly to senior
Jetstar Management. Express
Ground Handling currently provides comprehensive Ground
Handling (Ramp) services to Jetstar operations at six
Australian airports. In addition we also service several
turboprop regional airlines and adhoc charter flights.
Express
Ground Handling’s business operations are governed by the
Qantas Group Policy suite including Be Safe. In addition,
the business reports operational safety data directly into
an integrated Safety Management System.
Our Staff
The
organisation boasts approximately 250 Ground Crew operators
nationally, and is supported by a predominately ‘flat’
management structure.
Employment of Staff Ground Crew employees
are engaged under an exclusive workplace agreement with the
Transport Worker’s Union (TWU). This Greenfield’s’ agreement
operates independently of existing Qantas TWU agreements and
promotes workplace flexibility. Forward thinking workplace
dynamics provide to deliver true value to Express Ground
Handling’s customers.
